Why So Many People Get Misled

The Truth About Canada & Australia Immigration — And Why So Many People Get Misled

Almost every day, I hear people say things like:
  • “I’ll just follow a YouTube tutorial and do everything myself.”

  • “My friend got PR, so I’ll get it too — we have the same profile.”

  • “If a consultant mentions a lawyer, my case must be filed by a lawyer.”

  • “SAR 4,000 work permit? Sounds real!”

  • “The cheapest consultant is obviously the smartest choice.”

These beliefs are the reason so many applicants face delays, refusals, or complete failure.
Let’s break these myths — properly.

1️⃣ “I don’t need a consultant; YouTube and friends are enough.”

If learning from YouTube could replace expertise, we wouldn’t need certified doctors, engineers, or specialists.

You can watch a heart surgery online…
But would you trust yourself to perform one?

Immigration works the same way — it is NOT a trial-and-error process.

A single error can lead to:

  • File rejection

  • Misrepresentation

  • Being declared inadmissible

  • A permanent ban

  • Delays of several months or even years

Consultants exist because immigration is complex.
It requires:

  • Understanding policy

  • Interpreting regulations

  • Structuring a risk-free application

Knowledge is not the same as professional skill.

2️⃣ “My friend got PR; we have similar profiles, so I’ll get it too.”

No two immigration profiles are identical — even if they look similar on paper.

You may share:
✔ The same degree
✔ The same job role
✔ The same NOC code
✔ The same test scores
✔ The same experience
✔ The same age

And still get different results.

Why?

  • You apply at a different time

  • Cutoffs shift

  • Provincial needs change

  • Demand for certain occupations fluctuates

  • Your documentation may vary

  • Different officers assess your file

Just like a civil engineer cannot perform neurosurgery and a surgeon cannot build a bridge —
You are an expert in your field. We are experts in ours.

Knowing “a little bit” is not the same as being equipped to handle a legal, high-stakes application.

3️⃣ “If a consultant is IRCC/MARA registered, a lawyer will handle my file.”

This is another widely misunderstood idea.

Most immigration files are processed by consultants — not lawyers.
Lawyers typically step in only for complicated, high-risk cases.

Many agencies simply highlight a lawyer’s name for marketing purposes.

But even if a lawyer is involved:

👉 No agency, consultant, or lawyer can guarantee a visa.
The final decision always lies with the visa officer.

4️⃣ “Immigration is only about having a high CRS score.”

A strong score is helpful — but it’s not the only factor.

We have seen:

  • High scores wait for months

  • Lower scores receive ITAs sooner

Why does this happen?

  • Program categories change

  • Provinces target specific occupations

  • Draws are not always CRS-focused

  • The timing of your submission matters

Immigration is not a simple number game.

It’s a strategy, not a formula.
